Topic : Sanctification is on Going. Text : John 13: 1-11 Key verse: 8-10.

No,” Peter protested, “you will never ever wash my feet!”
Jesus replied, “Unless I wash you, you won’t belong to me.”
Simon Peter exclaimed, “Then wash my hands and head as well, Lord, not just my feet!”
Jesus replied, “A person who has bathed all over does not need to wash, except for the feet , to be entirely clean. And you disciples are clean, but not all of you.” ( John 13: 8-10) NLT.

Sanctification can be defined as the action of making or declaring something holy.

It is the action or process of being freed from sin or purified from unrighteousness. The process of sanctification is an intentional act on once part.

When a person get born again , the new life he received which is his spirit is already sanctified but the soul which comprises of your will ,mind , and emotion , this components needs to go through transformation to be conformed to the image of Christ.

As a Christian it is your responsibility to walk in holiness meaning to separate yourself from all kinds of ungodliness as we await the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sanctification or living a life of holiness does not just happen , it takes relying on the help of the Holy Spirit daily and prayerfully studying the word of God and doing what it says intentionally.

Beloved the Bible says ; shall will remain in sin until grace abound? And Paul says God forbid , why because without holiness no man can see the Lord do not allow anyone to fool you . Yes the blood of Jesus Christ is provided for us incase we fall into sin. when are you going to come to maturity ,where you can no longer sin but please the Lord in all things.

In our text , the disciples are sanctified by their belief in Christ and transformed by the word but the Lord knows as their is symbol of our work of faith , He knows that they will face challenges in the process of getting to maturity during His arrest, death , resurrection and ascension thus He washed their feet to make them complete in holiness through the washing of water by the word .

Brethren make every effort by the Holy Spirit to “…….stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us……..”( Hebrew 12: 1) AMP.
